Film grammar / Camera angles
Low Angle Shot
Camera below eye line, looking up: power, threat, heroism.
What it is
A low angle shot places the lens below the subject's eyes and tilts up. The subject dominates the frame and the viewer feels smaller.
When to use it
Superhero films, sports commercials and villain introductions rely on it. Combined with a wide lens it becomes aggressive; with a long lens it is subtler.
How to prompt it
Write "low angle, camera looking up at" and add a sky or ceiling detail so the model has something to show behind the subject.
Low angle, camera looking up at a samurai in a misty bamboo forest, hand on his sword hilt, leaves drifting down, slow push-in, 50mm.
