Film grammar / Camera movements
Orbit Shot
The camera circles the subject; a moment frozen in time.
What it is
An orbit (arc shot) moves the camera in a circle around the subject. It isolates a moment and makes it feel important - a kiss, a dance, a hero standing up.
When to use it
A slow partial orbit (30-90 degrees) feels cinematic; a full fast orbit feels like a music video.
How to prompt it
Say "slow orbit around the subject, 90 degrees". Orbits are the move where video models most often warp faces, so keep faces medium or wider.
Slow orbit around an older couple slow dancing alone in an empty wedding hall strewn with confetti, string lights overhead, 35mm.
