Film grammar / Camera movements
Static Shot
Locked-off camera; the frame is a stage.
What it is
A static (locked-off) shot does not move at all. Everything that happens, happens inside the frame. Wes Anderson, Roy Andersson and most horror jump scares rely on it.
When to use it
Stillness gives the audience time to look - and to anticipate.
How to prompt it
Paradoxically, you must state it: "static camera, locked-off tripod shot". Otherwise most video models add a gentle drift.
Static locked-off tripod shot, a lone farmhouse in a wheat field under a massive supercell storm cloud, wheat bending in waves.
