Film grammar / Camera movements
Pan and Tilt
The camera rotates in place: horizontally (pan) or vertically (tilt).
What it is
A pan rotates the camera left or right on a fixed point; a tilt rotates it up or down. They follow action or reveal space without moving the camera body.
When to use it
A whip pan is a pan so fast it blurs, used as an energetic transition.
How to prompt it
Direction and speed matter: "slow tilt up from the wreck to the Milky Way". For transitions, "fast whip pan with motion blur".
Slow tilt up from a rusted car wreck in a red desert to the Milky Way arching overhead, campfire flickering, 14mm.
